Pronounce English uses your microphone only when you choose to practice a phrase. This policy explains that processing and the limited, non-identifying analytics used to improve the app.
1. Information processed
- Pronunciation audio: When you start a pronunciation exercise, the audio you record is processed to score your pronunciation and return feedback.
- Usage data: Product interactions, such as which features are used, may be collected without being linked to your identity.
- Diagnostics: Crash and performance data may be collected without being linked to your identity so we can improve reliability.
- Support messages: If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you include in your message.
2. How information is used
We use information to provide pronunciation scoring, maintain the app, diagnose problems, answer support requests, and understand which features need improvement. We do not use pronunciation audio or analytics for third-party advertising.
3. Sharing and service providers
Audio may be processed by technical service providers solely to deliver pronunciation feedback. Limited analytics and diagnostics may be handled by providers that help us operate and improve the app. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect users and our legal rights.
4. Purchases and Apple services
Apple processes App Store purchases and subscriptions, so Brightwood does not receive your full payment-card details. Microphone permissions, analytics sharing, backups, and subscription settings are controlled through your Apple device and Apple Account. Apple’s own processing is governed by its policies.
5. Retention and choices
Analytics and diagnostic information is retained only as long as reasonably needed for product improvement and security. Support messages may be kept as needed to resolve your request and maintain business records. You can control microphone and analytics permissions in device settings, delete local app information by deleting the app, and contact us about information you submitted directly.
6. Children’s privacy
Pronounce English is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
7. Changes and contact
